Few things in life are definite. Math is one of those thing, but that's why it's boring. (Just kidding--math isn't boring! I'm just really bad at it, so I have to make fun of it to raise my self-esteem. I'm like a bully that way.) But writing is definitely not one of those objective things--writing is very subjective. That being said, there are some general guidelines, tips and tricks that a writer, from beginner to professional, can utilize to improve their writing.
And that's where this blog comes in.
The intent of this blog is to offer students of any subject assistance in honing their skills to become a better writer. Because, even if you think you're bad at it, you are a writer--we are all writers--it just may take a bit of guidance to create the pieces you wish to. Since writing is so subjective though, I want the reader to keep in mind that these suggestions are just one way to do things. While a narrative essay should probably be a narrative, it is not completely necessary that the essay's thesis be the exact last sentence in the opening paragraph; however, I will suggest, to a beginning writer, that starting out this way won't hurt.
I want this blog to be useful, accessible, any perhaps even entertaining on occasion. So please, any comments you have on a post or suggestions for new ones, I'd love to hear!
The biggest, baddest monster you will encounter is the blank page, but it can easily be overcome with just a squiggle.
